  • Part-Time Administrative Assistant – Baton Rouge

    The Baton Rouge office is hiring a part-time administrative assistant to work 2-5 p.m. M-Th at our corporate office.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Supporting Project Managers in performing clerical functions:
      • Fielding calls in a timely and professional manner.
      • Running errands to help service our clients faster.
      • Scanning various project documents.
      • Mailing out documents for a variety of projects.
      • Other administrative tasks as needed

    Job Requirements:

    • 0-2 years’ experience
    • High school diploma
    • Work at least 12-15 hours a week.
    • High level of organization skills and ability to multi-task.
    • Strong command of the English language with effective writing and speaking skills.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (specifically Outlook, Word & Excel).
    • Must have a valid driver’s license.
    • Must successfully pass a background check and a department of motor vehicle screening.
    • Must work well in a team environment.

  • Professional Engineer – Civil Site Design

    RP: HTF-1

    Summary

    Designs and supervises engineering projects within their discipline of engineering. The Civil Site Design P.E. will work for government, commercial and residential development clients entailing all aspects of site development design such as grading, drainage, storm water management, water and sewer, erosion and sediment control, as well as plan and permit processing and technical writing.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Analyzes reports, maps, and data to plan projects
    • Consider construction costs, government regulations, potential environmental hazards, and other factors in project-planning stages
    • If applicable, compile and submit permit applications to local, state, and federal agencies verifying that projects comply with various regulations
    • Provide cost estimates for materials, equipment, or labor to determine a project’s economic feasibility or for the client’s use.
    • Use design software to plan and design various types of projects in line with industry and government standards
    • Coordinate surveying requirements to establish reference points, grades, and elevations to guide construction
    • If necessary, present their findings to the public on topics such as bid proposals, environmental impact statements, or property descriptions
    • Must meet deadlines set by either the client or internally in order to meet or exceed a client’s expectations.
    • Work with all disciplines to coordinate, plan and design projects.
     

    Job Requirements

    • 5-7+ years’ experience in Civil Site Design
    • Bachelor’s Degree in related field from an ABET accredited University
    • Licensed in Louisiana (P.E.)

  • Civil Engineering Intern – III

    RP: HTF-2

    Engineering Intern

    Summary

    Primarily responsible for providing advanced technical support in the development/design of assigned engineering projects. The purpose of this position is to provide technical day to day support and input to the Engineering Project Managers, and for carrying out the scope of work in accordance with the proposal and/or the contract terms. This position will work directly under the supervision of a registered professional engineer in the respective discipline.  

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Applies judgement to perform design calculations for various aspects of design within their discipline.
    • Applies judgement to perform drafting and design on projects using design and modeling software within their discipline.
    • Develop project specifications
    • Uses judgement to determine appropriate modifications when necessary
    • Provides guidance on all above tasks to entry level EIs
    • Manages time on project work according to directives from supervisors
    • Works with supervisors and Project Managers to understand role within the greater organization
     

    Job Requirements

     
    • 2-4+ years’ experience
    • Bachelors of Engineering Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
    • Completion of Fundamentals of Engineering Exam
    • Ability and familiarity with reading, analyzing, and interpreting drawings and documents.
    • Working knowledge of design software within their respective discipline and Microsoft Office Suite applications
    • Work under moderate supervision
    • Flexibility and time management to work on concurrent projects under deadlines.

  • CAD Technician – Baton Rouge

    ERP: HTF-3

    CAD Designer

    Summary

    Primarily responsible for representing engineering designs in a digital form for a wide range of infrastructure types under the supervision of Senior CAD personnel, engineers and/or project managers.  

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Produce engineering drawings and design layouts using design and modeling software with specifications from project and industry standards.
    • Incorporate engineering change orders into design documents.
    • Select component parts and materials to be used in designs.
    • Draft two and three-dimensional drawings of roads, sidewalks and/or buildings.
    • Work with Engineers to develop documents for studies and reports.
    • Perform quantity calculations from engineer’s design documents.
    • Use CADD software to modify, process and label drawings.
    • Takes initiative to develop processes and standards that will streamline the department’s CADD production.
    • Works well in a team environment.
     

    Job Requirements

     
    • General knowledge of basic construction techniques
    • Familiarity with the fields of engineering through either some formal training or work experience.
    • 2+ years’ experience in plan production
    • Basic knowledge to some experience utilizing CADD design software and Microsoft Office Suite applications (such as but not limited to AutoCad, Revit, Microstation, AECOSim, Excel)
    • Flexibility and time management to work on concurrent projects under deadlines.
    • Strong communication and technical writing skills
