F&T Helps to Establish “Engineer IT” Program at LASM

Forte and Tablada was instrumental in helping to establish the “Engineer IT” program at LASM.  The program is designed to educate young children, ages 6 through 12, about Engineering.  Our very own, Joey Coco worked with LASM staff and other ASCE members to establish the program curriculum and to teach the course.  Kids learned about the engineering process ASK-IMAGINE-DESIGN-CREATE-IMPROVE through a series of examples and through a paper bridge exercise.  The course is now a feature at LASM and will be expanded upon over time with additional modules such as water treatment.
