Forte and Tablada, Inc. was responsible for the civil/site design and electrical engineering design for this project. The Baton Rouge Community College New Automotive Collision Center is the next phase to the Ardendale Campus. The New Automotive Collision Center is approximately 26,000 square feet and is located on Lobdell Boulevard. This new facility increased the course offerings with the Baton Rouge Community College System. The electrical part of the project included: interior and exterior lighting design utilizing energy efficient LED type lighting sources to provide IES lighting standards for the all the classroom and shop areas of the facility. Electrical design provided the power distribution system for the HVAC devices along with receptacles and specialty electrical loads such as automotive lifts, paint booths and welding machines. Also included in the electrical design were the special systems including fire alarm, security, card access, CCTV and data systems with both hardwired and wireless components. Interconnection of special systems design also included fiber optic cable interface to the data server in the adjacent existing Automotive Collision Center.
