Forte and Tablada’s Survey Department Manager, Will Fontenot, P.L.S., has recently been appointed one of the Professional Land Surveyors selected by Governor Jindal to serve a 6-year appointment on the Louisiana Professional Engineering and Land Surveying Board (LAPELS). Mr. Fontenot has been in the land surveying business for over 50 years. He worked for the highway department in the early years of his career until going to work for R. L. Bennett & Associates for 6 years. He continued his career with Alex Theriot & Associates for over 20 years until the company was acquired by Alvin Fairburn & Associates in 1999. He worked there for another 10 years before coming out of retirement to work for Forte and Tablada, Inc. in 2010.
Mr. Fontenot’s passion for land surveying can be seen when he speaks to local students about the surveying profession and encourages them to follow in his footsteps. He likes to tell students “Find a job that you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.” Recently, he spoke to students at Walker High School and to students of the Geomatics Club at Nicholls State University.
