East Feliciana Rural Water System Improvements

East Feliciana Rural Water System, Inc. received a loan from the USDA Rural Utilities Service for water system improvements. Forte and Tablada, Inc. (formerly PEC) was hired to assist with the application, preparation of the Preliminary Engineering Report and Environmental Report, engineering design, plan preparation and construction administration. The project was designed and bid in multiple phases and contracts and included various improvements:

Water Supply Improvements:

  • Install a new elevated 300,000 gallon storage tank along with a new 300 gpm well at a new site along Highway 63 near the Plank Road intersection.
  • Install new 200 square-feet area pressure filters to service a 400 gpm pump to treat high iron and manganese, a new 45,000 gallon ground storage tank for backwashing, new backwash settling pond, backwash pumps, and new auxiliary generator at the Battle Road Well site.

Water Distribution Improvements:

  • Replace existing 3” and 4” water mains with new 8” water main in various areas to improve system conditions.
  • Install a new 6” water main throughout remainder of the Highland Lakeshore Subdivision.

Water Storage Improvements: 

  • Install a new 300,000 gallon elevated storage tank.
  • Install new 100,000 gallon ground storage tank at the Turner Well Site.
  • Install new 211,600 gallon ground storage tank at the Highway 964 Well Site.
