Forte and Tablada developed a conceptual layout for the City of Walker as an alternative to an outdated DOTD study to remove the center turn lane from the five-lane section throughout this heavily traveled commercial corridor. The conceptual layout considered new commercial development including an urgent care center and carwash as well as the new city hall that is under construction on a side road within the corridor. Forte and Tablada is coordinating with the City of Walker, DOTD, and a traffic engineering consultant to obtain traffic data throughout the corridor for DOTD’s use in updating their previous study.
