The Town Park is comprised of approximately 3.18 acres and is centrally located to residents in and near the Town of Madisonville. Local schools, hospitals, the downtown area and several churches surround the Park and have easy access to the facilities.
The envisioned improvements have been incorporated into a Master Plan that was developed for recreational facilities at the Town Park.
Forte and Tablada, Inc. (formerly PEC) provided engineering and construction management services for all projects. Forte and Tablada prepared plans and specifications, assisted the Town in the bidding process, and provided the necessary supervision and inspection to ensure the projects were completed within project guidelines.
The Pavilion, Splash Pad and Playground equipment were partially funded by a Land and Water Conservation Fund grant. Forte and Tablada provided assistance to the Town by preparing the application, securing funding and grant administration from project start to completion.
Projects are described below:
Tennis Courts
New tennis courts were constructed in 1972 and are planned on being upgraded in 2024 with pickleball multi-purpose courts.
New Parking Lots (Pine Street)
Asphalt cold planing, asphalt overlay, concrete work, and associated appurtenances for parking areas to accommodate ADA parking access for the Park.
Town Park Pavilion
Construction of 32-foot octagonal multi-use Pavilion & associated appurtenances. This pavilion is utilized, among other events during the annual Wooden Boat Festival.
Playground Equipment
The picturesque nature of the Town, its proximity to the Tchefuncte River, and the Town’s maritime heritage were the inspiration for the new splash pad and tug-boat themed playground area.
