Mt. Pleasant Blvd. Widening (Barnett Road to LA 964) and Americana Roundabout

Forte and Tablada, Inc. (formerly PEC) was retained to perform the design and plan preparation for widening Mt. Pleasant Bvd. from LA 964 to Barnett Rd. in Zachary, Louisiana.  Water and gas mains owned and maintained by the City of Zachary existed along the entire project area. Part of Forte and Tablada’s plans and specifications included the relocation of these lines to the new right-of-way such that these existing utilities would remain in service and not be impacted by the widening project.

A pair of 20” high pressure natural gas pipelines crossed the project and Forte and Tablada had to coordinate with two separate utility companies for protection (and in some cases encasement) of these high pressure lines.

Fiber optic cables also existed along the vast majority of the project and their relocation was also coordinated by Forte and Tablada.

The project included the following components:

  • Right-of-Way Determination and Plans
  • Typical Sections, Road Alignment and Profile
  • Pedestrian and Bike Path Pathway
  • Roundabout Design
  • Storm Drainage Design
  • Utility Relocations
  • Construction Cost Estimates
