Forte and Tablada, Inc. provided civil and electrical engineering design services as part of a design team with Coleman Partners Architects, LLC. The civil/site scope included the design for parking lots, sidewalks, drives, site grading, site drainage systems, gravity sewer, water, and gas service lines. The site design included 66,760 square feet of parking and drives, water service, subsurface drainage design, and a stormwater detention pond.
The electrical portion of this project consisted of a Vocational Technical College, which provided classroom and lab space for several curriculum including Nursing/Medical Assistant and Industrial Maintenance. Electrical design provided interior and exterior building/parking lot lighting in addition to Architectural lighting within the spaces. Design included 480/277Volt power distribution for specialty equipment used for instruction and to serve the HVAC system components. 120/208Volt distribution system provided for the general purpose and specialty receptacle branch circuits. This project utilized a 2500Amp, 480Volt bus duct system throughout the facility to all allow ease of reconfiguration of the electrical system in the future, should the purpose of a space be changed. Special systems for the facility included a fire alarm, security, CCTV, and data systems compatible with the college standards.
The construction included a 20,000-square foot facility which was completed by the contractor Stuart & Company in 2013.
